Innovación en los espacios físicos de biblioteca: Dokk1, Oodi, Deichman Bjørvika y Gabriel García Márquez

Resumen

Este artículo intenta identificar innovaciones en el diseño de bibliotecas públicas recientes. Se cuestiona si hay una verdadera innovación en la arquitectura bibliotecaria y su influencia en el servicio y en la comunidad. Para ello se analizan cuatro bibliotecas que han recibido el premio de Biblioteca Pública del Año de la IFLA. Se les aplica un análisis de precedentes gracias a las visitas realizadas a los cuatro centros. Todo ello se apoya en una revisión bibliográfica crítica. Los ejemplos seleccionados son Dokk1, Oodi, Deichman Bjørvika y la Biblioteca Gabriel García Márquez. Aunque con programas diferentes que marcan sus diferencias finales, las cuatro bibliotecas presentan grandes semejanzas en cuanto a su concepción como tercer espacio, su adaptabilidad, diseño participativo, y respeto por el medio ambiente. Se concluye que, aunque las innovaciones individuales que contienen a menudo llevan ya cierta trayectoria, el hecho de reunirlas en un solo lugar, unida a su capacidad de adaptabilidad de los espacios, las convierten en ejemplos de innovación con una fuerte influencia en la comunidad a través de estos servicios. Esta adaptabilidad es la mejor garantía para asumir nuevas innovaciones de forma sencilla.
